April 16, 2020 – Facebook is reigning on top of the social media platform and even if many other social media competes to rise for the past couple of years, Facebook remains sitting on its throne as number one. You use the site a lot and that means you should know some tricks or features that will come in handy. I admit that I love these Facebook features as they allow me to do cool stuff. So, if you want to enjoy Facebook more, then here are the best features that you should know about on Facebook.

Here is the list of some useful and cool Facebook features every user should know:

1. Check How Much Time You Use Facebook
2. Limit Your Facebook Usage
3. Control Notifications Like a Pro (Android Only)
4. Find All the Photos You and Your Friends Liked
5. Download your Facebook data
6. Search for Open Jobs in Your Area
7. Unsend Messages in Facebook Messenger
8. Post updates in multiple languages
9. Active sessions and log out of devices

1. Check How Much Time You Use Facebook

If you have been using Facebook and started concerning yourself on how much time you consume on the app, you will be glad to know this. You no longer need to use third-party apps or wait for your smartphone to get Digital Wellbeing or Screen Time Features. You can now use the Facebook app in checking the status of how much time you’re spending on it. Facebook will show you a bar graph of your usage over the last week, along with the average usage time.

2. Limit Your Facebook Usage

After seeing the time spent on Facebook, you can see that there is an option you can set as a reminder. The app will notify you that you have spent enough time on it.

If you want to put a strict limit over the usage of your app, you can use Screen Time if you’re an iOS user or Digital Wellbeing for Android Pie devices. Both allow Facebook users to set time limits of usage.

3. Control Notifications Like a Pro

Google had started rolling out Notification Categories that allows app developers to put in the hands of the users more notification controls. Back in August, Facebook had adopted this feature and if you are using Android Oreo, you can easily use this to control what kind of notifications you want to receive from Facebook and even control their priorities. The Notification is categorized from people you may know, birthdays, videos, groups, etc. This Facebook feature is only available on Android.

4. Find All the Photos You and Your Friends Liked

This Facebook feature is not known to many people. This feature allows Facebook users to view pictures or videos they’d like back in the past. This trick is easy to do: press the search bar at the upper portion of the app and type in the words “Photos Like by” that is followed by either “me” or “name of your friend”. Facebook will instantly show you the collection of photos you or your friend had liked.

5. Download your Facebook data

To try this Facebook feature, go to “Facebook Settings” and in the tab called “General” you can see that there is an option below saying “Download a copy of your Facebook data“. See the circled portion of the photo below.

Afterward, press the “Start My Archive“. Facebook will make you enter your password again for security measures. The site will send you an email of all the gathered data once the download is ready. See the image below.

6. Search for Open Jobs in Your Area

You can also search for jobs open in your area here on Facebook. You can see this in the “explore” section. Select “See More” in case you did not see it. Next, click on it to see jobs that are open in your area.

7. Unsend Messages in Facebook Messenger

Facebook can now allow users to unsend messages from the Messenger. Take note that in this Facebook feature you can only unsend the sent message within 10 minutes. This ensures that no one can change their messaging history for security measures. To unsend a message, just click and hold the message you’ve sent and then a button called “Remove” will pop up. Click this button and options will appear; you can choose to “Remove for you” or “Remove for Everyone”. Select the option you want.

8. Post updates in multiple languages

Facebook recently introduced the ability for Pages to manually post in multiple languages. Sadly, this Facebook feature is only available for Pages.

You need to enable the feature first before you can start posting in multiple languages. Simply go to “Page Settings” and then, next, tap “General Tab”. Scroll down and turn the “Post in Multiple Languages” on.

After doing it, if you will write an update from your page, you will see an option saying “Write Post in another language”.

9. Active sessions and log out of devices

Facebook allows us to check devices that we’ve logged in from. You can also remotely log out from those devices.

Go to “Facebook Setting”. Just click the “Security” and follow by tapping the “Where You’re Logged in”. You will see here all of your active sessions whether on PC or your mobile phone. Simply just tap “End activity” to log out to all of the devices.
